Lessons from Pooh

Lessons from Pooh

12.20.11

In the spirit of the season (which, as you might have noticed from my last post, I am really NOT in), I am putting on a brave face and focusing on the good things I have going on. One good thing in particular. I have something to tell you, and I think this is the week to do it. Watch this week for my announcement, it’s coming sometime before Christmas Day.

In the meantime, I was just hanging out on StumbleUpon, passing the time until I head out to pick up the last few things I need for Christmas, when I came across a page of A.A. Milne quotes. And as I read them, it struck me that we can learn a lot about life from Winnie the Pooh.

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. “Pooh?” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s hand. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”

Because who hasn’t felt that way about someone? Have you ever reached for your loved one’s hand, or snuggled back against them in bed, or sought them out in a crowded room just so you would know where they were?

Sometimes you just want to be sure.
